Postbiotic LB356R® is a new and unique bioactive ingredient. Postbiotic LB356R® is an ingredient produced by fermentation of a unique probiotic strain Lactiplantibacillus plantarum LB356R® (patent applications pending).

Properties

Generated in a matrix during fermentation, Postbiotic LB356R® comprises metabolites, organic acids, short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), microbial cell fractions, functional proteins and peptides, extracellular polysaccharides (EPS), cell wall material, teichoic acid, peptidoglycan-derived muropeptides and co-aggregating structures.

Target

Postbiotic LB356R® has a unique bioactivity being able to co-aggregate with problematic ribotypes of Cutibacterium acnes associated with pimples and impurities. The activity allows for re-establishment of a healthy skin-microbiome by preventing overgrowth of unwanted microorganisms.

A new dermatologically controlled clinical evaluation of Lactobio’s Postbiotic LB356R® has concluded significantly moisturizing effect after 7 days. An increased cutaneous hydration rate of 31%, as compared to placebo, was observed after 28 days.

Cutaneous hydration measurements are performed with a Corneometer. This technique is a well-established method to reproducibly and accurately determine the hydration level of the skin surface, i.e. the humidity level of the Stratum Corneum.

We offer a variety of solutions, both conventional cosmetic products, and lipid-based products with live bacteria.

The live probiotics require specific formulations controlled by Lactobio, while the postbiotics can be added to most cosmetic formulations.

Dosing cap solution

Lactobio’s new dosing cap solution makes storage of probiotics at room temperature possible, ensuring live bacteria for two years.

The probiotic bacteria are separated from the cosmetic oil formulation until use, where they are released by the dosing cap system into the bottle. The solution is available as private label or under our proprietary brand, BAK. ​​​​​​​
